"Un pintor pinta cuadros sobre lienzo. Pero los músicos pintan sus cuadros en el silencio" diría Leopold Stokowski a principios del siglo pasado. Actualmente, Alondra de la Parra pinta sobre el Lincoln Center, en Nueva York. No es raro solamente que una mujer dirija una orquesta, si no que también que sea mexicana, existiendo tantos estereotipos hoy en día. Esta mexicana de 28 años estudió en la escuela Mayfield San Leonardo de música en Londres cuando tenía 15 años. Fundó la Orquesta Filarmónica de las Américas y trabajó en el proyecto "mi alma mexicana" dirigiendola. ¿Porque escribir sobre Alondra de la Parra en un blog de "moda"? después de ver el video, diganme si es o no inspiradora la música clásica y mucho mas, la mexicana (considerada recientemente por la UNESCO como patrimonio cultural de la humanidad).

Hablando de música mexicana y que tan inspiradora es, la banda estadounidense Beirut hizo un EP doble llamado March of the Zapotec/Holland y contiene musica inspirada en el reciente viaje que hizo Zack Condon, líder de la banda, a Oaxaca. La banda Jiménez, oriundos de Teotitlán del Valle, tocan también de fondo en el video.

Speaking of mexican music and how inspiring it is, american band Beirut made a doble EP called March of the Zapotec/Holland that containts music influenced by Zack Condon's recent trip to Oaxaca, México. The Jimenez Band from Teotitlán del Valle, backs Condon in the video.
